Leah Schenck-Crowne is a dramatic soprano acclaimed for her radiant tone, commanding stage presence, and emotional depth in opera, concert, and recital repertoire.
Critics have praised her performances as “thrillingly sung and deeply human” and highlighted her “voice of opulent beauty and formidable dramatic authority.”
Schenck-Crowne’s notable operatic roles include Turandot with Opera Bergen in Norway, Salome with the Béziers Opera Forum under Michel Plasson, Kundry in Parsifal with the Metropolitan Opera Guild, Tosca with Sarasota Opera, Isolde in Tristan und Isolde with the New York Chamber Festival, and Brünnhilde in Wagner's Siegfried with Opera Fest at Riverside conducted by José Serebrier.
She has also performed as the title role in Turandot with Opera Company of Middlebury, Opera Fort Collins, and the Mediterranean Opera Studio in Italy, as well as Élisabeth in Verdi’s Don Carlos with Sarasota Opera. In 2016, she was cast as Salome with Opera Ft. Collins.
Her concert repertoire spans sacred works such as Bach’s Magnificat, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9and Choral Mass, Brahms’s and Fauré’s Requiems, Rossini’s Stabat Mater and Petite Messe Solennelle, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Mass in C minor, Requiem, and Vespers Solennes di Confessore, and Verdi’s Requiem.
Schenck-Crowne has received numerous accolades, including the Wagner Society of New York’s “Promising Young Dramatic Voice Award,” participation in the Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Rising Stars Showcase and the Metropolitan Opera Guild’s Dramatic Voice Showcase, and a full scholarship to the Dolores Zajick Institute for Young Dramatic Voices. She was also a finalist in the Concorso di Marcello Giordani in Siracusa, Italy.
Looking ahead, she will perform the role of Brünnhilde in Wagner's Die Walküre in August 2026 as a member of the main cast for Dramatic Voices Berlin, performing with a full orchestra under the baton of Brian Knoll. She will also present a concert of Spanish songs in Madrid, Spain, in July 2026.
Beyond performing, Crowne serves as the Education Manager of the York Symphony Orchestra, where she develops programs connecting thousands of students annually with live orchestral music.
She is dedicated to fostering musical curiosity and creativity in the next generation while continuing to explore the dramatic soprano repertoire.
